If hamburgers and french fries that seemingly never go bad weren’t enough, the food industry has moved on to the next food it will try to keep fresh forever…….apples!
Recently approved in both Canada and the U.S are “Non Browning Apples”
Here’s part of an article from cban.
When apple flesh is cut and exposed to oxygen, it begins to brown. But the GM apple or “Arctic Apple,” as the company calls it, “will decay naturally just like any other apple, but it will not turn brown from bruising, cutting or biting – not in minutes, hours or days.” In fact, the company says the GM apple will not brown for 15 to 18 days.
Now you can enjoy your ‘fresh’ cut fruit weeks after it was cut…..yummy!
